2025 in Germany (Warnemünde + Rostock + Kiel)

the Norwegian Dawn cruise stopped at two ports in northern Germany:

• Warnemünde (with a choice go to Rostock or Berlin)
  • also went to Rostock on own by train
• Kiel (a quiet German town close to Denmark)

had already set foot in Germany twice before

but not in Warnemúnde:

nor in Rostock (empty in the mid-summer!):

nor in Kiel (also fairly empty in mid-summer):

still these towns made it a timely "middle mark" of the trip to:

• buy some daily needs (such as toothpaste)
  • as well as some "German chocolate"
  • one can find "Rabattgeschäfte" in these towns
• take it more slowly by walking without goals
  • looking at buildings from the "before times" to the now
• make note of the stillness in this "down time"
