three kinds of knowledge
bringing up three kinds of knowledge (rooted in time)

knowledge = not only what we know but how long it lasts:
fleeting knowledge
the kind of "made meaning" that has a short shelf-life
- the where and when of something that will happen only once
- the worth (or "value") of something right now, but not earlier or later
long-lasting knowledge
knowledge with a long shelf-life, helpful for many settings:
- making something as a "bookmark" for another setting, e.g.:
- learning how to cook anything for other times
- learning how to make spreadsheets for one thing...
- ...works for something else down the road
- learning a "programming language" to write software...
- ...helps us learn other "programming languages"
forever knowledge
building upon long-lasting knowledge through meaningful handiwork:
- making something often enough so that it becomes one with the mind
- what we learn in one field can shift over to others
- learn to learn by doing
...that knowledge then becomes more "built-in", as if we grew up with it!
